Communicating
Complete shift change reports. Call manager, nurse, and family members when necessary. Complete MARS accurately. Incident reports, vitals, weights, etc.
Creating Positive Interactions
Look for opportunities and patience for residents, family members, and co-caregivers. Be mindful of resident’s dignity and privacy. Love residents as your own family.
Being Responsible
Complete your tasks on each shift. Concentrate and pass medications safely. Work when you are scheduled and be on time. Take control of your shift and know what the needs are of each resident.
Being Flexible and Teachable
Be willing to work a non scheduled shift. Keep an open mind, listen, and be willing to learn new things and keep certificates up to date.
Being Compassionate
Have compassion and patience for residents, family members, and co-caregivers. Be mindful of resident’s dignity and privacy. Love residents as your own family.
Building Staff Synergy
Look for ways to surprise co-caregivers. Have a good attitude and work together.
Delivering “WOW” Experiences
Look for opportunities to WOW resident, family member, home health agency, etc. Welcome, eye contact, how can you help, remember name, escort them, etc.
Being a SUPER Caregiver
Look for ways to be a Super Caregiver. Go above your job description. Do the little things for residents, and co-caregivers.
